“Driedeling” shows the front three figures, of which the middle one slightly rises above the two figures which surround it. These two figures, or forces, while protecting the middle figure and the lifting him up. They stand for his two children, his two proteges, are two angels, etc. The middle figure, a male figure, stands for man. Its presence depolarizes the voltage which arises when only would be the two characters present. Such polarization, we can tell from the back side of the picture, where only the two angels are depicted. This side of the image is to be regarded as a port. The central figure in the front is born as it were out of this gate: the man who is born from the spirit world. The circular character of the image, press down the unit of the whole. The three figures are one. A square shape could never express this unity. A square shape is never complete, never a unit. The question would then always loom which is that which is abraded away in order to obtain the square.
